My Make-Up Essentials

I’m always curious about what make-up other gals use, what their staples are, and what they swear by. This made me think, maybe some people are curious as to what make-up I use and which products I swear by. Maybe not… but just in case, here they are.

1. Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes, liquid eyeliner in  Mat Black.

I searched for years to find the perfect eyeliner. The requirements it had to meet were: 1. It was a liquid 2. It was jet black 3. It was water proof and 4. It had a fine felt tip ( and not a brush). About a year ago, I found the Aqua liner from Make Up Forever. As a girl who wears make-up while she works out, I needed something that was going to last. This stuff is insane! No mater how much I sweat, it stays on! It is a product I absolutly swear by.

2. M.A.C Eye Brow Pencil in Strut.

The eyebrow pencil I had been using for sometime finally ran out, and while I was going to M.A.C anyway, I figured I would ask about a new eyebrow pencil. The girl helping me gave me Strut and told me it would change me life. It did. I love my eyebrows, mostly because Strut is the perfect colour for me -its a reddish-brown ( I have naturally red hair). The pencil is a twist up, and it is just the right size to help me create a lovely, retro arch.

3.  Kat Von D Paint Love lipstick in Misfit.

I have had the same tube for quite some time, and I think the colour has actually been discontinued by now. None the less, I love all her lipstick colours. The red I use, Misfit, is really saturated and has great staying power. It’s a deep, blood red, which is great for me. They also have a nostalgic smell; they smell like real lipstick, like what my mother use to wear when I was a kid ( do you know what I mean?). Not to mention, the packaging is rad.

4. M.A.C Lustre lipstick in Lovelorn.

This is my go to day-time lipstick. It is a glossy pink ( the other day my boyfriend described the colour as bubble gum). It’s good for my complexion, which is, pale and full of freckles. Its soft on my lips and has decent staying power.

5.M.A.C Eye Shadow in Orb.

I use Orb every day. It is a great base colour. I almost always were brown eyeshadow, and Orb is a light cream/neutral colour, which works great with my skin tone.

6. Kat Von D Eyeshadow Palettes

I love Kat Von D’s eyeshadow palettes for a few reasons. She had quite a few now, which means there is a colour palette that is perfect for everyone. The colours in them are amazing and they are good quality. There is also usually a variety of matte, shimmery, and cream eye shadows all in one palette. And of course, I love the packaging.

7. Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette in In The Nude

I use this eyeshadow palette every day. The colours in it are perfect for me; I have always used browns. They are good quality and have lasted me quite some time. They are shimmery nudes, thus “Moon Baked”. There are a couple other colour palettes as well, for those who like things a little brighter.

I do have a favorite Mascara ( DiorShow) but I will use any kind that is water proof and gives me some volume. I love Bare Escentuals for bronzer and face powder, but again, will use other brands/products if I have to ( ie. I run out, can’t make it to Sephora, or am broke). I usually wear a light pink blush, either M.A.C , Benefit, or Nars. And that’s about it. If you have any questions, please do let me know! I’d love to hear what some of your beauty staples are as well!

And here I am, wearing  the make-up I just told you about

I’m thinking I will do other, separate posts about my go to hair and skin products. What do you think?

*Sorry for the less than great photos- I never proclaimed to be a photographer, but I am trying
